I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As both boxers met for the customary confrontation, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually happening.
